Travel Grants

Graduate Student SIG Travel Grants

The College and University Faculty Assembly (CUFA) Board has authorized travel grants to assist graduate student members of NCSS and CUFA in defraying costs associated with attending the biannual CUFA retreat and the annual CUFA/ NCSS meeting. The grants are designed to help graduate students who otherwise would not be able to attend these meetings. You may apply for any amount up to $400. In some cases, you may be awarded a partial amount.

Grant applications from women, minorities, and other underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged.

How to Apply:

To apply for a grant, please download the Word document application at the bottom of this webpage. Send the completed form to Todd S. Hawley at toddshawley@gmail.com.

Deadlines:

October 1, 2007: CUFA/ NCSS annual meeting travel grant applications due.

Review and Notification Process:

Submitted applications are compiled by the GSF chair.

Applications are separated into general membership and those with a record of service to CUFA and/or NCSS. The budget will be split based upon the number of applicants in each group.

General membership applications will be blind reviewed by current GSF officers and all volunteers.

Applications from those with a record of service to CUFA or NCSS will be blind reviewed by a subcommittee of volunteers of the CUFA GSF.

Recommendations will be sent to the GSF chair and the CUFA board liaison.

All applicants will receive notification individually via email. Award recipients will receive a formal award letter at the graduate student SIG business meeting at the next annual CUFA conference.

Documentation:

Those who are awarded travel grants will be expected to supply documentation of their expenses (receipts) after attending. Reimbursement details will be included in emails to grant recipients.
